Easing gently into 2026 - materials and patterns to inspire

Hello, I I hope the first few weeks of the year have been kind ones, and that the year ahead holds good things for you.

Just popping by to share some snippets from the cutting table and all the buzz going on over on the sewing machine.

On the cutting table, we've been slicing and folding LOTS of new bundles. The bundles section of this store is now brimming with bundles, including this one.

This Honeybee Curated bundle was inspired by a Sew along, that I just couldn't resist joining in on... Fig Tree & Co's Wintertime Magic Row by Row. Its coming up to its third week, head over to Fig Tree's blog for more info.

The size of the completed project is up to you, Fig Tree provide options for a Table Topper, a Runner, or a Lap Quilt. I'm hoping to make a lap quilt, which I can use year round. Bearing this is mind I picked colours having year round appeal.

Fig Tree patterns often use the Sew and Flip technique for Half Square Triangle, it's simple, fun and produces perfectly formed HST's. If only I'd known about it when I first began patchwork, 40 years ago, it's been a real game changer for me.

I'll be sharing some pics both here and on Instagram as this project grows. These cheery little blocks are Sweet Hearts from week 2.

They've been flying off Ethel, my sewing machine...

Ethel is definitely on a mission - we're on Sweet Heart number 14, just ten more to sew - and the next pattern of Fig Trees Wintertime Magic is out tomorrow - I better go and get on now, if we're to clear the decks for the next block in the Sew along 🤗

From our little hive to yours Xx 🐝
